HaRav Shraga Kallus 2/1/2023-

Baked flour/water combinations make pot haba bkisnin. It’s not “chashuv” enough to be bread unless you (actually “the velt”) have enough to be kovea seuda (then birchat mazon/hamotzi). Implications for brachot made “incorrectly” (mzonot/al hamichya) and vice versa. Lots of complex situations discussed.

Mishna Brura says “it’s pashut” that the amount to be kovea differs by subgroup (eg very old folks) (me – how define which subgroups?)

HaRav Uri Deutsch 2/2/2023-

Focus on the definition of pot haba bkisnin as dough with honey et al kneaded in. Is the requirement met by recognizable taste or is there a required percentage of ingredients? Is the definition based on kviut? Can you be yotzei the mitzvah of matza with it?

HaRav Shraga Kallus 2/8/2023-Halacha LiMayseh –

How much do you have to eat of pot haba bkisnin in order to require birchat hamazon? Do you include what you put on it (eg tuna fish)?

HaRav Asher Weiss 2/19/2023-Using “Non-Jewish” Names

Sources pro and con concerning using non-Jewish names (better to use Jewish). Real issues are motivation, context and prior agreement.

HaRav Nosson Levine 2/20/2023-

How is pot haba bkisnin different from regular pot? Perhaps qualitatively and/or not kovea because generally (since don’t eat a lot)? The amount definition is somewhat subjective. How much change in the tzurat hapot can cause an issue (eg soaking in wine)?

HaRav Simcha Bunim Londinsky 2/23/2023-

Filled dough is hamotzi unless it’s generally served in small portions and used as a kinuach. Applications (eg large knish) discussed.

HaRav Zev Smith 2/21/2023-Pas Habah B’kisnin

Eating habits change – pot haba bkisnin replaced bread but did it fully replace it existentially/halachically? Various applications discussed.

HaRav Shraga Kallus 2/22/2023-Halacha LiMayseh –

Cake in a non-bread meal issues including: volume or weight? How many kzeitim? Are other foods mitztareif? When is it eaten during meal? And are the three definitions of pot haba bkisnin a siman or siba (would soft pretzels be included?)?

HaRav Simcha Bunim Londinsky 2/23/2023-

Perhaps wraps are mzonot since you never eat a wrap by itself? Then on to defining pot haba bkisnin.
