Rabbi Marc Angel, Rabbi Emeritus of the Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue Really? That’s what you think is most noteworthy about him under the topic Rabbis with a different twist on Judaism?
Also, the links to the TOC and sample interview aren’t working. I’ll try and read some of his interviews on the Jewish Press site to get an idea of whether I’d like the book or not.
what did the author of the book mean when he called Rav Steinsaltz “a Tendentious Talmudic Mind?” I can’t figure out what he meant or if he knew how “tendentious” is used.
I’m guessing he identifies Rabbi Angel only with S&P because that’s simply easier as a small blurb than everything else. If I can offer as a colleague of Elliot’s, his book is actually very well done and enjoyable.

The links work. You just have to wait a second.

That’s some lineup- sounds like a great book! Ship some to Israel…
I would have included Rabbi Dr. Natan Lopes Cardozo on this list as well…
Links / ‘sp edition price’ don’t work for me either… maybe it’s a Mac thing??
Maybe he meant “tenacious”
Maybe he meant “tendentious” as in “argumentative” or “firmly opinionated.” The word can be used in that sense.
