  1. Newton had a great interest in the Beit HaMikdash- he felt that it was a microcosm of the universe, and that if he could picture it properly, that would help in his understanding of physics. Among the papers described in the article are a large number of drawings of the Mikdash; there was an exhibit of them at the National Library in Jerusalem a few years ago that I visited.
